Capt. Dave got fired from his job with the state of Florida some 30 years ago. WHY? Because he fished too much! And that's when he started running full-time fishing charters in 1996, and never looked back.
Through recessions, pandemics, and global economic collapse, he's still here, making his living via the St. Johns River. When things got slow, he worked part-time as a tow boat Captain for Tow/Boat US and SeaTow,. No wife here, to fill in the gaps Capt. Dave's been a bachelor way too long. He believes in making things happen, all on his own.
Back in the day, he was a die hard offshore guy. But over the years quickly learned, "you can't make a living in N.E. Florida, going offshore 12 months a year, unless your boat is 70 feet!". His roots were fishing with his dad in his very first boat, intended for freshwater use.
But that 1974 14' AlumaCraft with a '74 Evinrude 15hp and a set of oars as back up, turned out to be a great Jetty craft, for his dad and him. Fishing the mile long piles of granite boulders that protect the St. Johns River Inlet.
Now, 8 boats later up to 26' and still named the "Jettywolf". He took delivery in May of 2025 of his last boat build, the 20' Hanko side console. It'll go far into the salt marsh creeks, and to those rock jetties safely and economically. Remaining versatile and fishable 12 months a year, 7 days a week in Jacksonville, Florida.
