It was just one of those days.  Myself and long time client Dave Cohen from Virginia were out working the Mayport jetties. The wind was blowing 20 knots out of the south, it was over cast, cool and looked like rain any minute. Dave had caught a 20" Redfish, a few Spanish Mackerel, and Jack Cravalle and Mangrove Snappers. I was about on my 20th anchor spot, frustrated and tired of fishing in the wind. Dave always wants me to fish along with him, not having to twist my arm to hard, I did. We had zero Trout....our targeted species. Everything was working against us. And then I caught a Trout, a nice fat 20 incher, then I caught a fatter 24 incher. Then, we hit a lull, and were catching nothing. Then I made another cast and caught the Speckled Trout I'd been hunting for 20 years. A bouncing on the scale 10 pounder! A trout of a life time.

I felt bad. I wanted Dave to catch a giant. And we kept trying, and trying and trying. The weather deteriorate fast and by the time we went to leave. The heavy rains fell.  My Trophy, came on a day when we we struggling to catch any Trout.

It was one of those kinda days......
